FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Holy Cross Community,
Traditionally Lent is a time of preparation, repentance, self reflection and sacrifice. It begins next Wednesday 5th March with Ash Wednesday and concludes with the celebration of the passion and resurrection of Christ at Easter. It is a time of self-audit, as to how we are living our lives as Christians. Looking at it from our students perspective it is a period of “target setting’ or more specifically resetting, for how we are living our lives in Christ. Archbishop Fisher’s letter on Lenten Penance is included in this edition of Crossroads.
If we see Lent as a chore, a period of denial or dread then we predispose ourselves to not getting the most out of this period. If we accept that this is about God’s great desire to bless us. Then, it is easier for us to place ourselves in a space to receive what God wants to give us. Either way this is a great opportunity to bring ourselves closer to God and in the process reset and refocus our lives.
