The STEM Engineering Team has started the year strong with Year 9 developing their understanding of how structures work and the different forces at play. 

 

The teams are currently looking into not only the complexity of designing and building bridges but how different materials can be strengthened by different structural formations which they are built in. 

 

To assist in understanding the forces on different structural designs the teams delve into understanding the simplicity of the Da Vinci bridge and develop structures incorporating these ideals out of different materials to see if they could all hold the same weight.

 

There is the next step in the bridge design itself and who will hold the most weight.
