Harmony Day invites us to embrace cultural diversity and the strength it brings to our society. These moments remind us of the importance of inclusion, respect, and the shared values that unite us, and invite us to focus on the importance of human dignity, which unites people of every culture, encouraging mutual respect and working together toward the common good. On Friday students at Holy Cross embraced their culture and wore orange, their cultural dress or cultural jersey raising money for Caritas Australia.

 

Students participated in various cultural stalls at recess, where they were able to try some Korean snacks and drinks, play Korean games, Italian card games and be in the presence of their peers from various backgrounds. At lunch we had different cultural performances with a group representing Greece, Lebanon and a large Pacifika group. The boys took such pride in representing their heritage and showcasing the beauty of their culture. 

 

We would like to thank all the students who were involved in preparing the cultural stalls, rehearsals for the cultural performances and also to Simon Doueihi and the crew from @Zaffet Lebnen Entertainment for also supporting our students. 

 

As a college we were able to raise over $2,300 for Project Compassion.
